If this item is part of your order, the entire order will be marked as a Thanksgiving Pre-Order and will be available for pickup on either Thursday, October 9th, or Friday, October 10th—depending on the date you selected at checkout.

Winter's organic protocol includes and extends the free-range protocol ensuring all rations, straw, and forage are certified organic. Their heirloom Bronze Orlopp flock is certified by Ecocert Canada.

Approximate weight:

Small: ~5-5.9kg – 6-8 people
Medium: ~6-6.9kg – 8-10 people

The weight will be as close to advertised but the birds do fluctuate in size so may not be exact.

Serving/Cooking suggestion: Excellent roasted, cooked on the BBQ or deep fried. Season with your favorite herbs and spices. Cook to 170 degrees Fahrenheit or 77 degrees Celsius when the thermometer is inserted in the thickest part of the breast. Perfect choice for feasts or special occasions or as an affordable choice for family meals. The breast meat freezes well to use in sandwiches, salads or casseroles. The carcass makes flavorful, nutritious, rich stock for outstanding soup.
